Pittsburgh Steelers Offensive Tackle Zach Banner, Alpha Delta (USC) 2017 fights anti-Semitism
Pittsburgh Steelers Offensive Tackle Zach Banner posted a video in response to an anti-Semitic Instagram post by DeSean Jackson on Twitter, becoming one of the first NFL players to speak out on the issue. His video has now been viewed over 700,000 times, giving him a large platform to speak out on this issue.
Banner joined Zeta Beta Tau at the University of Southern California where he was an All-American offensive tackle for the Trojans. His experience in the Fraternity and at USC taught him about the Jewish community and anti-Semitism. He credits his ZBT brothers with sharing their experiences as part of his learning about the Jewish community.
Banner’s messages have been gaining traction on social media, and he is using this is an opportunity to educate. In addition to his work with anti-Semitism, Banner gives back through the B3 Foundation, which supports youth in Tacoma, Wash., Los Angeles and Guam.
Banner has continued this important conversation on social media, and has posted videos and messages that educate and support.
