ZBT Charters the Alpha Iota Chapter at Kentucky

All brothers in attendance with the Alpha Iota Charter.

LEXINGTON, Ky., December 16 — Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity is proud to announce the chartering of the Alpha Iota Chapter at University of Kentucky.

The Chartering Ceremony was December 7 on campus. Chartering Officer was Supreme Councilor Fred E. Levinson, Alpha Omega (University of Miami) 1986, and Master of Ceremonies was Fraternity Chief Experience Officer Ricky E. Kirby, Ph.D, Gamma Mu (University of Memphis) 2016. Presiding Chapter President was Shawn K. Sullivan, Alpha Iota (University of Kentucky) 2026.

“I am proud of everything my brothers of the Alpha Iota Chapter have accomplished and I know there are many great things ahead for us,” Brother Sullivan said.

Several proud alumni and guests were in attendance, including Chapter Advisors John Gilger, Iota (University of Denver) 1990; Dr. Lowell Katz, Gamma Zeta (University of Louisville) 1968; Bruce Ross, Alpha Gamma (Vanderbilt University) 2010; and Howard D. Markowitz, Alpha Nu (Muhlenberg College) 1981.

Campus leaders joining the event included Interfraternity Council advisor Jalen Stone and representatives from other Greek Life councils.

“This chapter has overcome considerable hardships to achieve this recognition. I am proud of the strength of their Brotherhood,” Chief Experience Officer Kirby said.

The Chapter has a GPA in the top third among the IFC. Alpha Iota supports Gift of Life and Children’s Miracle Network. The Chapter has more than 30 brothers.
