Chapter Awards
Each year the Fraternity recognizes individuals (undergraduate, alumni and friends of ZBT) and chapters for achievement in programming, recruitment, philanthropy and more. The Standards of Excellence program is used as a guide in determining award winners at the Fraternity’s International Convention.
Brummer Cup (Most Outstanding Chapter)
Taking its name from the highest honor given to a Chapter of Phi Sigma Delta, the Brummer Cup is presented to the ZBT Chapter that best represents the ideals and tenets upon which our Fraternity was founded. The winner of the Brummer Cup excels not in one area of Chapter life, but in all of those key areas that are the hallmark of a great organization.

Lee Dover Award (Outstanding General Chapter Programming)
Lee Dover, Alpha Delta (University of Southern California) 1925, the second Executive Secretary of Zeta Beta Tau, is credited as being one of the primary architects of our Fraternity. Dover guided the Fraternity through two World Wars and the Great Depression, times that were fatal to many inter/national Greek organizations.
Dover advocated that ZBT brothers were men of integrity and men of learning. To honor his legacy, the Lee Dover Award is presented for outstanding chapter programming. Qualifying chapters have worked to improve the quality, integrity and scope of learning of their brothers.

The Sobel Award (GPA Improvement)
First presented in 1915, the Sobel Award is named for the brother who sponsored the initial prize, Isidore Sobel of the Theta Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania. Brother Sobel recognized an underlying purpose of our organization and the true purpose of every student’s presence at an institution of higher learning — academic success.
Chapters qualifying for the Sobel Award have demonstrated a marked improvement in scholastic standing in the past academic year. These Chapters have shown a positive change in all-chapter grade point average of either .15 in one semester or .30 in one year. Campus documentation must be included in the award submission.

Frauenthal Award (Intramural Sports Participation)
The Frauenthal Award was presented for the first time at the 1914 International Convention by Dr. Henry Frauenthal, an honorary brother of ZBT. The award was initially presented to the chapter which most distinguished itself in athletics of any kind, either varsity sports or intramural participation. Today we present the Frauenthal Award to those that excel in intramural athletics. Chapters that qualify for this award have placed first in at least one overall intramural sports competition or won any three individual campus or IFC intramural sports competitions in the past academic year.

Barry D. Siegel Award (Most Successful Recruitment)
The Barry D. Siegel Award recognizes excellence in new member recruitment. Barry Siegel served as Executive Secretary to Zeta Beta Tau from 1960 through 1971. He stressed the need for the education of brothers on fraternity management skills, including recruitment.
This award is presented to the chapters that show the greatest success in recruitment due to training, education, and an emphasis on the continued growth of the chapter.
Since 2002 this award has been given to three chapters based on the number of students on their respective campuses. (Campus size over 20,000 undergraduates; 10,001-19,999 undergraduates; and 10,000 undergraduates or fewer)

Bolotin Innovation Award
Laurence Bolotin served on staff at ZBT for an impressive 14 years. 10 of these years were spent as Chief Executive Officer. During his time at ZBT, the organization saw many advances and progress. Most notably, ZBT became recognized as a leader in innovative educational programs including Summit Against Hate, Safe Smart Dating, and Israel Advocacy Summit. It only seems fitting that we honor him as the namesake of the Bolotin Innovation Award. This will be presented to chapters who think differently and push the Fraternity forward.
