Dr. Marlon Gibson joins ZBT staff

CARMEL, Indiana — Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity is pleased to welcome Dr. Marlon L. Gibson into the role of Senior Associate Director of Conduct and Risk Prevention at ZBT International Headquarters.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Gibson to the team,” said Dr. Laurence Bolotin, CAE, Interim CEO of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. “I have full confidence that Marlon will play a pivotal role in chapter retention and accountability while ensuring that ZBT brothers feel supported as they navigate the complexities of fraternity leadership. “

Marlon brings more than two decades of experience in higher education, fraternity and sorority life, leadership development, student engagement and organizational consulting to ZBT. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for developing meaningful relationships with students, volunteers, campus professionals, and fraternity and sorority leaders while helping organizations navigate complex issues with a balance of care, accountability, education, and sound judgment.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Zeta Beta Tau and contribute to an organization with such a strong commitment to brotherhood, leadership and the well-being of its members,” Dr. Gibson said. “Throughout my career, I have believed that accountability and care are not competing ideas, they are both essential to creating a meaningful fraternity experience. I’m excited to build relationships with ZBT brothers, volunteers, campus partners and colleagues while helping chapters create environments where members can thrive, lead well and truly take care of one another.”

Most recently, Marlon served as Director of Community Engagement for Kappa Alpha Order, working with chapters and campus communities across the country. Previously, he was the director of Sorority and Fraternity Life at Emory University.

Also a nationally recognized speaker and facilitator with ForCollegeForLife, Marlon has worked with colleges, universities, fraternities, sororities, and professional organizations across the country. His programs explore leadership, human flourishing, emotional intelligence, community, networking, belonging, and the responsibility we have to care for one another.

For Marlon, fraternity is deeply personal. He is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and his career has been shaped by a belief in the transformative potential of the fraternity and sorority experience when organizations remain grounded in their values and committed to developing people.

Marlon resides in Georgia with his bride, Sheree, and their son, Adam Patrick. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, serving his community, mentoring emerging leaders, and, most importantly, building relationships with people wherever he goes.
