ZBT Charters the Alpha Omega Chapter at University of Miami

MIAMI, December 8, 2023 – Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity is proud to announce the chartering of the Alpha Omega Chapter at University of Miami.

The Chartering Ceremony was Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Chapter house on Liguria Avenue. Chartering Officer was Past International President Norman M. Waas, Esq., Alpha Omega 1982, and Master of Ceremonies was Fraternity Chief Executive Officer Libby Anderson, CAE. Presiding Chapter President is Will H. Fleck, Alpha Omega 2024.

Past International President Waas presents the Charter to Brother Fleck.

“The success and prosperity of the Alpha Omega Chapter rests in each of the individual brothers. From those who were there since the start to the newest brothers who came on in the fall, they have all contributed to getting this Chapter back on campus. And they will be followed by quality men who will become ZBT Brothers next semester and for years to come,” Brother Fleck said. “Receiving our Charter in the most expeditious amount of time was truly a great honor and the zenith of success in my entire college career. It could not have happened without the hard work, determination, resolve and commitment of the rest of the Brotherhood.”

Congratulatory notes can be sent to the Chapter at miamizbt.pres@gmail.com.

Many proud alumni and guests were in attendance, notably Brother Jerome Cohen, 1951 (pictured left with his grandson, Billy Corben), who was an original Founding Father of the Chapter in 1947.

Also attending the ceremony were chapter advisors including Brian M. Kushner, Alpha Omega 2001, several other local volunteers and alumni, University representatives including Senior Associate Dean of Students Steve Priepke and Associate Dean Cristina Luna, current and past ZBT staff and the undergraduate Alpha Omega Chapter brothers. The day following the chartering, Zeta Beta Tau hosted a highly regarded alumni reception in the area, generously hosted by Zeta Beta Tau Foundation Past President Steve Gold, Alpha Omega 2000.

Also at the Chartering, Zeta Beta Tau was proud to recognize Brother Pierce W. Chan, Alpha Omega 2024 (pictured bottom left), for being named the Fraternity’s 2023 Best Founding Father. Brother Chan served as the Operations Director for the Chapter and has been a great leader in the re-establishment of Alpha Omega.

Please join us in celebrating Alpha Omega’s successes. Congratulations and thank you to the Chapter and its supporters for your hard work and dedication.
